The SRA is responsible for accepting proposals for slum redevelopment, verifying the eligibility of slum dwellers, approving rehabilitation projects, sanctioning project plans, overseeing construction, allocating flats to eligible slum dwellers, taking action against ineligible slum dwellers, and ensuring the execution of rehabilitation projects.

Under the Maharashtra Slum (Improvement, Eradication, and Redevelopment) Act, 1971, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) provides facilities to slum dwellers, distributes service charge bills, handles slum transfers, takes action against illegal slums, and manages cleanliness and businesses in slum areas. Answer:

Answer:

• Slums (both declared and undeclared) on land owned by the Central Government, Maharashtra Government, MHADA, Municipal Corporation, Government + Municipal Corporation + Private land – 158

Question 4: What documents are required for slum dwellers to obtain an identity card and qualify for the scheme?

Answer:
As per the Government Resolutions dated June 22, 2014, and May 16, 2015, the following documents are required:

• Name must be listed in the voter list before January 1, 2000,
  or
• Proof of residence in the slum before January 1, 2000, such as:
  • Electricity bill
  • Telephone bill
  • Sale deed
  • Business tax receipts
  • Income tax or other tax payment receipts
  • Ration card issued before January 1, 2000
  • School leaving certificate
  • Birth/death certificate
  • Driving license
  • Passport
  • Bank passbook issued before 2000
  • Tribal certificate
  • Voter ID card
• Slum dwellers residing since January 1, 2003, should have cleared outstanding dues.
• Slum dwellers on government initiative lands such as playgrounds, recreation grounds, parks, or non-buildable land before January 1, 2000, are eligible.
• Business licenses issued by government/semi-government institutions, including trade licenses, eatery/hotel license, industrial license.
• Any other legal documents proving residence before January 1, 2000.

Question 5: What documents are required for No Objection Certificates (NOC) for water and electricity connections in slums?

Answer:

For water connections, it is necessary to apply to the Water Supply Department of Pune Municipal Corporation, and for electricity connections, to MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) along with the following documents.

• Application from the slum dweller
• Proof of protected slum or eligibility as per revised government resolution
• Copy of the service charge payment receipt for the current financial year

Question 6: What documents are required for the transfer of a slum dwelling?

Answer:

For hut transfer, it is necessary to apply to the concerned Regional Office along with the following documents.

• Original photo pass of the slum dweller
• Payment of transfer fee and processing as per the prevailing government resolution
• Undertaking in the prescribed format
• One of the following proofs from before January 1, 2000:
  • Name in the voter list
  • Election identity card
  • Government/Semi-government licenses or documents for the concerned location
  • Birth/death certificate, electricity bill, telephone bill, sales tax, business tax, income tax, or any other tax payment proof

Question 7: What documents are required for inheritance claims of a slum dwelling?

Answer:

For inheritance rights, it is necessary to apply to the concerned Regional Office along with the following documents.

• Original photo pass of the slum dweller
• Death certificate of the parent(s)
• Legal consent letter from other heirs
• One of the following proofs from before January 1, 2000:
  • Name in the voter list
  • Election identity card
  • Government/Semi-government licenses or documents for the concerned location
  • Birth/death certificate, electricity bill, telephone bill, sales tax, business tax, income tax, or any other tax payment proof
• Proof of the inheritor's identity:
  • Aadhaar card number, current election identity card, or name in the voter list
• The inheritor’s family must be currently residing in the said slum dwelling

Question 8: What is the annual water tax for a slum dwelling as per the Municipal Corporation?

Question 12: What should be the height limit for a hut?

Answer:
The height of a hut should not exceed 14 feet. If the height exceeds 14 feet, it will be considered unauthorized construction as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Slum Eradication and Improvement Act, 1971 (Revised Section 3Z-1), and action will be taken for its removal.

Question 13: Where can complaints regarding unauthorized slums/illegal constructions in municipal limits be filed?

Answer:
Complaints regarding unauthorized slums or illegal constructions should be filed with the Concerned Deputy Commissioner and Competent Authority (ZoNiPu) (Zone No. 1 to 5). A copy of the complaint should also be sent to the respective local municipal office.

Question 14: What are the eligibility criteria for beneficiaries under the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme?

Answer:
The eligibility criteria under the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme are as follows:

• Original Photo Pass from 1987.
• One of the following proofs from before January 1, 2000:
  • Name in the voter list
  • Election identity card
  • Government/Semi-government licenses or documents (birth certificate, death certificate, electricity bill, telephone bill, sales tax, business tax, income tax, or any other tax payment proof)
• Current Proofs: Aadhaar number, current election identity card, or name in the voter list.
• Survey list entry, cadastre map entry, and assessment register record for the slum dwelling.
• The family must be residing in the slum dwelling at present.
• If any other residential unit/shop is found in the municipal limits under the beneficiary's name, the eligibility will be canceled, and they will not receive benefits under the scheme.
