Pune Municipal Corporation Ranks First in Maharashtra Government's 150 days E-Governance Reform Midterm-Review
Pune, August 29, 2025 Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been recognized as the top-performing Municipal Corporation in the Maharashtra government's 150-day e-governance reform. The interim review, conducted by the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai, each department selected one office to present its progress, with PMC chosen from all municipal corporations across the State.
Pune Municipal Commissioner, Shri. Naval Kishore Ram, presented the progress report on the various e-governance projects implemented by the PMC, also Honourable Additional Pune Municipal Commissioner (Estate) Shri. Pruthviraj B.P. was present. The presentation highlighted the successful rollout and adoption of several key digital initiatives aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and citizen service delivery.
Key highlights of the e-governance initiatives include as following:
- Website and Mobile Apps: The PMC has developed a new, mobile-friendly website with 36 micro-sites available in both Marathi and English. It has seen over 67 lakh visitors annually. The corporation also developed multiple citizen-centric mobile applications, including PMC CARE, ROAD MITRA, and PMC ISWM.
- Right to Services (RTS) and Online Services: A total of 97 services have been officially notified under the Right to Services Act. Out of these, 89 services are available online, targeted to provideto citizens within the stipulated time frame. Last year more than 2.25 Lakh services were delivered to citizens.
- Grievance Redressal System: Complaint portal has been established, allowing citizens to register complaints through 10 different channels, including mobile apps, WhatsApp, and social media. Total 1.15 Lakh complaints resolved in last year.
- E-Office Implementation: Since June 2025, the entire PMC workflow has been transitioned to the e-Office system. The system has over 2,500 active users among PMC officers and staff.
- Advanced Technology Adoption: The PMC has effectively used GIS for its Road Asset Management System (RAMS) and Integrated Works Management System (IWMS).
- Data and Analytics: The development of a central dashboard with 500 key performance indicators (KPIs) across 40 departments is underway, with 20 dashboards already completed for decision-making. It has started Commissioner War Room called "PMC Spark" to track 50 priority infrastructure and social projects to be reviewed fortnightly.
Al and Advanced Technology Integration: PMC Chatbot on Website and WhatsApp provides citizen to access information easily. It also uses WhatsApp to broadcast information to citizen Also uses a WhatsApp chatbot to distribute property tax bills and notices to citizens PMC has pioneered the use of Artificial Intelligence (Al) by deploying a voice bot to assist with the collection of property tax from defaulters. The corporation also plans to collaborate with prestigious institutes for Complaint Predictive Analysis, Social Media Sentiment Analysis and other Al Initiatives.
The successful implementation of these projects has made the PMC a leader in e-governance reforms in the state of Maharashtra. The Corporation remains committed to completing the pending tasks from the 150-day program and continuing to leverage technology for the benefit of its citizens
