Overview of department
As per the resolution No. 1/455 dated 29/07/2008 of the Municipal Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation and the authority transfer order No. Outward No. GA. VA. NI.3 / 1601 dated 29/07/2008 issued by the office of the Municipal Commissioner, all the work of the GA. VA. NI. Department has been decentralized. Accordingly, the powers have been delegated to the Deputy Commissioner and competent authority for Divisions 1 to 5. The zoning-related work within the jurisdiction is carried out through 15 regional offices under the control of the concerned Deputy Commissioner and competent authority for Divisions 1 to 5. Coordination work is handled by the Deputy Commissioner of Slum Eradication And Rehabilitation.

Transfer Fee For Hut
The transfer fee for the hut is as below :

Service Charges For Slum Dwellers
Depending on the carpet area, the annual service charge of the hut is as below:

Water Charges for Slum :
The water tax within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits for each declared slum is Rs. 365/- per year.
Criteria for the height of a slum:
The height of a hut should not exceed 14 feet. If the height exceeds 14 feet, it will be considered unauthorized construction as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Slum Eradication and Improvement Act, 1971 (Revised Section 3Z-1), and action will be taken for its removal.
