On the occasion of the Amrut Mahotsav year of the Pune Municipal Corporation, a cultural heritage festival “Heritage Yatra 2025” will be jointly organized by the Pune Municipal Corporation and M.I.T. A.D.T. University from April 23 to 26, 2025.
To mark the Amrut Mahotsav year and World Heritage Day, the program “Heritage Yatra 2025,” based on the heritage theme, will be held at Kalagram, Pu. La. Deshpande Garden, Sinhagad Road, from April 23 to 26, 2025. The event will be inaugurated at 5:00 PM on April 23, 2025, at the hands of the Hon’ble Municipal Commissioner, Dr. Rajendra B. Bhosale.
Various programs will be organized under “Heritage Yatra 2025.” One of the key highlights will be a cultural performance titled “Agyat Shalaka,” which will highlight the contributions of unknown Indian women warriors who fought for the motherland. This performance will be presented by the Mumbai-based ‘Rangved’ group on April 23, 2025, after the inauguration.
Additionally, from April 23 to 26, multiple competitions and events based on the heritage theme will be held for school and college students. These will include essay competitions, storytelling competitions, debate competitions, and more. Workshops will be conducted on subjects such as theatre, musical theatre, Madhubani art, painting, bamboo craft, and other traditional forms.
A photography competition will also be held for the younger generation, focusing on the architectural frames of old Pune – its doors and windows.
A Heritage Walk from Shaniwarwada to Vishrambaug Wada will have been organized on April 18, 2025, to commemorate World Heritage Day. Another Heritage Walk will be held on April 24, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Overall, this program will provide a grand platform to showcase and experience the rich historical and cultural heritage of Pune. The entire event will be hosted at Kalagram, Pu. La. Deshpande Garden.
Kalagram will stand as a proud creation developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation, and every citizen of Pune will be proud of it. All citizens will be encouraged to visit and participate in this vibrant celebration.
