"Harit Pune, Samruddha Pune" 2026
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the inauguration of Van Mahotsav, Tree Plantation, Distribution of Plants at Low Proces, and Seed Collection Centre initiatives organized by the Garden and Tree Authority Department of Pune Municipal Corporation was held at Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Garden.
On this occasion, tree plantation was carried out in the distinguished presence of Hon. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Shri. Omprakash Divate, and plants were also distributed to citizens.
The programme was attended by Hon. Municipal Corporators, Hon. Joint Municipal Commissioner and Member Secretary, Tree Authority Dr. Ashok D. Ghorpade, Hon. Chief Engineer (Road Department) Mr. Rajesh Bankar, Hon. Chief Coordinating Trustee of Navchaitanya Hasyayog Parivar Mr. Makarand Tillu, Hon. Adv. Mr. Rajendra Agarwal, Hon. Garden Superintendent Mr. Santoshkumar Kamble, Hon. Garden Superintendent Mrs. Preeti Prasad, Hon. Garden Superintendent Mrs. Snehal Harpale, Hon. Assistant Garden Superintendent Mr. Ratnakar Karde, as well as members of Navchaitanya Hasyayog Parivar, various dignitaries, and a large number of citizens.
Under Pune Municipal Corporation's "Harit Pune, Samruddha Pune" campaign, a resolve was made on this occasion to create a greener, environmentally friendly, and sustainable Pune through tree plantation, conservation, and seed donation.
